The Giants Magazine for the San Francisco Giants is a monthly publication filled with news, player bios, feature interviews, and other San Francisco related content. The 2018 season 6-issues helped celebrate the team’s 60th Anniversary in San Francisco.
As the Print Designer at Diablo Custom Publishing working on the Giants Magazine, I—working with the Art Director—was responsible for the design, layout, and production of the different features in the publication.
The California Water Library is dedicated to providing unbiased information about California water issues. Working with OpenThink Technology LLC, I was tasked to design a logo that would represent California, its strong connection with water, and how it is documented.
Here I show the work process from start to the final, completed logo.
A donation flier for The Minnesota Zoo Foundation’s Tiger Conservation Campaign was chosen for this project. Tiger illustrations of both tigers were created to encourage the public to make donations to this non-profit organization. Both illustrations were drawn in Photoshop using a tablet and stylus.
We were asked to design a series of gig posters promoting concert events for specific bands. The first two were to be in black and white only, duo-tone for the next three, and for the last one we could use as many colors as we wanted.
Bands: The Cathedrals, The Reverend Horton Heat, Tycho, The XX, and The Black Keys.
The object of this project was to design a set of 3 postcards that would promote the play adapted from a German fairy tale collected by the Brothers Grimm entitled “The Seven Ravens.”
“The Seven Ravens” is a tale about seven sisters rescuing their brothers from war. Photography using paper, lighting, and color was used to mimic feathers and to convey a mysterious tone that compliments the classic tale of “The Seven Ravens.”
The Annual Sacramento Festival of the Arts features 225 of America’s best contemporary craftspeople and fine artists offering more than 15,000 original works. In addition to all the visual art, the festival features continuous live Main Stage music entertainment.
The objective was to design set of items with the main one being a poster with a front design and a schedule of events on the back. Other items included a smaller brochure schedule, postcards, website homepage, and secondary items like ID badges.
The Sacramento Music Festival and Jubilee is a large, multi-day, Jazz music festival held in Sacramento. The objective was to design a poster that would display the multi-day schedule in an a very clear and concise way as to not overwhelm the reader with the great amount of information shown. In order to do that the events, times, and venues were listed in one of the most simplified way possible.
